The Musician finished her very first 5K in 26 minutes. She did great and we are so proud. She spent the summer running and decided to try Cross Country for school this year. I think she may have found a new love. She was dragging after she crossed the finish line, but in just a few minutes was already talking about what she could do to improve for the next race. We can’t wait to see how much she improves as the season goes along!!
Last night our church held our annual I Am Not Ashamed outdoor baptism. Over 100 people were baptised, including our big girl. We are so proud of the stand she wants to take for Christ and her choice to profess her faith in front of friends, family and the world. She was baptised when she was younger, but said she doesn’t remember a lot about it. It was a great night and a beautiful service.
Little Miss Dragonfly received a Get Well gift in the mail from her Aunt L and Uncle R this week. She loves to get any kind of mail, but a great big box wrapped in colorful paper is the most exciting kind!! Aunt L had found the exact Happy Napper that she had been wanting and sent it to her all the way from Alabama. Thanks Aunt L!!!
It’s obvious around here that school has started back…….
(late afternoon naps)
And in other news,
***We are finally home from the hospital!!!! Maia is much better and except for still sleeping more than normal, is almost back to her old self. Thanks so much for all the prayers on her behalf.
***Our Article 5 was picked up in Guangzhou on Tuesday and overnighted to Beijing. So we are now officially waiting for TA!!!! We have arrived at the last and final step!!!! God is working.
Our little Dragonfly has been sick for a week now with a high fever. We still aren’t sure what the cause is and have spent the last 4 days in the hospital. We are ready to go home, but want to be sure we know what the problem is before we leave. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon. We miss our spunky girl!!
Bookbags, lunches, new shoes, early mornings and tired afternoons……… yep, it’s back to school time. Hard to believe that we have a Junior, Freshman, and Eighth Grader this year! For the first time, we won’t be driving them to school. The boys happily hopped in the car with their sister this morning. You know, the sister that they usually argue with? Well, for some reason she was especially cool this morning. But don’t worry, dad followed down the road until he had to turn off toward work!!
Happy Back To School Everyone!! I hope it’s a great year.
