Yes, she did. She got that much coveted license today. She was ecstatic and beaming and quite proud of her accomplishment. I, on the other hand was in no way prepared for the feelings that hit me like a cement brick. We let her drive to
show off celebrate with her friend later in the day and I actually followed her in another car all the way down the road. She did very well. I bawled. All down the road. In retrospect, someone should have made me sign a paper before the hubs and I set out to start our family with this very same child. This paper should have said…… In 16 years, you are going to have to watch your baby get into a vehicle without you and drive away without you into oncoming traffic without you and you will not be able to control it. You will feel immense sadness at the fact that this baby will be hitting a very important spot in life – the start of independence. You will feel immense worry and stress that you can’t take care of her while she is out of your reach. You will have to learn to trust God in ways that you have never had to do so before.
My little bird is learning to fly……flap your wings, baby, flap your wings…….
Find Your Wings by Mark Harris
It’s only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I’ll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I’ll want to know
You’re walking in the truth
And If I never told you
I want you to know
As I watch you grow
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I’m here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings
May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
Oh, but more than memories
It’s not living if you don’t reach for the sky
I’ll have tears as you take off
But I’ll cheer as you fly
I can’t believe our Dragonfly is 4 years old already!! The time flys by when your babies are growing up. On her actual birthday, the first thing she did when she got up was to come downstairs and ask me if she had gotten any bigger. I told her I wasn’t sure, but maybe a little. She seemed to think that since she was four that surely she had gotten bigger overnight!! She celebrated with her friends and cousins at Chikfil and finished it off with the ballerina cupcakes that she requested. Two of her siblings were on a mission trip so we decided to have a cake at the beach when all of our family would be together.
I have been trying to wait until I get my computer back from the repair shop to update the blog, but since it isn’t coming back for a few more days I couldn’t wait. I am so behind in posting and need to catch up.
***My friend came home from China and I want to share pictures from meeting her sweet princess at the airport – but the pictures are on my computer…… uuuggghhh!
***We have been doing a little shopping for a certain four year old boy and I wanted to share the new things that are popping up around our house……. pics saved to the computer.
***Our Vietnamese princess turned FOUR yesterday and I have pictures to share from the fun time we had at Chikfila celebrating – I may have to steal Jeff’s computer and download some pictures on there. I wonder if the bank would mind??
***I can tell you, though that we were CABLED BY THE NATIONAL VISA CENTER ON WEDNESDAY (Aug.3) AND RECEIVED OUR NOTICE LETTER ON THE SAME DAY. So we completed the next step. Now we are waiting for our paperwork to be dropped off at the US Consulate in Guangzhou. 14 days later our Article 5 will be picked up and we will then officially be waiting for TA!!!!! We are getting closer.
